Rooted & Rising is led by four exceptional women, each with decades of experience in the wellness industry. They offer unique stories and perspectives that assist participants on their path self-discovery.

Dr. Khiela J. Holmes
A licensed clinical psychologist, educator, and consultant, Dr. Holmes is dedicated to healing, resilience, and transformation. She earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Alabama-Tuscaloosa, specializing in children, and completed a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Michigan. As the owner of Shalom Wellness Services, LLC, Dr. Holmes provides therapy for individuals ages 6 to 25, focusing on trauma, anxiety, mood disorders, and emotional wellness. She extends her impact beyond psychotherapy by consulting with senior leaders and organizations in early childhood education, pediatric healthcare, and faith-based settings, guiding them in building trauma-informed systems that promote safety, connection, and healing. Dr. Holmes is also the founder of Birthing the Gifts, a nonprofit organization that nurtures the social-emotional wellness of youth and families, creating safe, compassionate spaces where individuals can grow, heal, and step into their God-given purpose through educational retreats, resources, and community engagement. An Adjunct Professor at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS), Dr. Holmes focuses on the intersection of mental health, trauma, and faith. Her leadership extends to national and state psychology organizations, such as the Society for Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology LEAD planning committee, Arkansas Psychological Association, and the Arkansas Association of Black Psychology Professionals. Passionate, strategic, and mission-driven, Dr. Holmes is committed to empowering individuals, transforming organizations, and creating lasting change in the communities she serves.

Stephanie Johnston, LCSW
Growing up deep in the Ozark Mountains provided Stephanie with an innate appreciation and understanding of the power of nature. In her 15 years of experience as a psychotherapist, paired with her background in Studio Art, she combines her joy of creation with her passion to serve others on their healing journeys. Stephanie has been extensively trained in several evidence based psychotherapeutic models including Brainspotting, Perinatal Mental Healh, Prolonged Exposure, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. The latter two she taught at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in the Masters of Social Work program as an Adjunct Professor. Her expertise is in addressing complex trauma while incorporating the benefits of art and nature. After spending 20 years in Little Rock she has returned to her roots in the Ozarks where she practices Buddhism, Taoism, and explores her interest in the Esoteric Arts. Her latest endeavors include training in the Quantum Healing Hypnosis Technique that aids clients in exploring past life regression.

Dayshia Tanks, LPC
Dayshia Tanks (she/her) is a facilitator and licensed counselor, born and raised in Central Arkansas. She owns South Main Counseling & Wellness, a private psychotherapy practice where she supports people as they find balance in work and life; process transformational and peak experiences; recover from complex and relational trauma; and move through major life changes. Her therapeutic approach is culturally humble, trauma-informed, integrative, and experiential. She is especially passionate about encouraging practices of collective care and community support. Inspired by the healing potential of nature connection and awe, Dayshia views nature as a co-therapist and enjoys walking alongside folks as they rediscover connection to the Earth, play, and pleasure as vital aspects of healing. In her spare time, she enjoys hanging out under trees and spending time with her daughter and partner.

LaTonia Tweedy
LaTonia is a dedicated licensed mental health and holistic practitioner, she specializes in treating mental health disorganization through a body-centric approach that emphasizes the connection between mind and body. She holds a master's degree in counseling and testing psychology, and certifications in various holistic practices, as well as biodynamic and bioenergetic modalities. This includes: yoga and pranayama breathwork, functional eating, trauma- informed stabilization, and neuroaffective relational touch therapy. LaTonia is the owner of Therapeutic Solutions, PA. In private practice, she focuses on supporting individuals through their healing journeys by utilizing a range of evidence-based therapies, combined with techniques such as breathwork, meditation, herbology, visualization, massage, grounding, and yoga movement. Her mission is to teach, model, and support individuals as they navigate their unique paths to wellness. LaTonia's exploration of indigenous healing practices has not only been enriching but has also provided her with a profound spiritual fulfillment. Her journey has fostered a deep commitment to experiential modalities that promote holistic healing. In 2023, LaTonia created Your State of Mind, LLC, a biohacking spa where holistic wellness and balance is cultivated and nourished. The spa uses science and technology to promote a sense of connection and well-being. Treatments and services are designed to enhance physical and cognitive function, improve recovery, and support overall health. This is achieved by incorporating technologies like infrared saunas, red light therapy, sound therapy, salt therapy, hydrotherapy, and auricular acupuncture.
